The following junior programs are available for juniors of all skill levels in California. Each group is listed by geographic area as a courtesy to our members. Most groups provide free or discounted coaching and are open to any junior who is interested in playing or learning racquetball. These programs are designed as a way for juniors to learn how to play racquetball, and to play with other kids. For the junior players who decide they enjoy the sport and begin to increase their skills, opportunities for competitive tournament play will be available for them.

Description Auburn Racquet & Fitness Club conducts a Monday through Thursday Junior Racquetball program from 4-5:30 pm. Generally ages range from 8-18 with basic framework four-fold: teamwork, respect, sportsmanship, with safety being paramount. Kids that have the interest to learn a fast paced, exciting new sport may participate in our weekly program any or all days, with the only prerequisite is enrolling in an orientation (held monthly for members) with the emphasis on basic skills, rules, stroke mechanics, & safety. Court drills, nutrition, conditioning exercises, plyometrics, & monthly club challenges are also part of our program.

Description A Program that began in 1998. It is run by AMPRO Advanced instructors Brian Dixon and Orlando Mayo. Players are in an age range of 6-18. Each week a new skill is learned feeding from the previous week. Players learn stroke mechanics, shots of the game and serves of the game. Sportsmanship and safety are emphasized.

Times Members are notified each week by email of the instructional times, but they are usually either Saturday 1 p.m. for beginners, 2 p.m. for advanced and high school players OR Sunday at 3:30 for beginners, 4:30 for advanced and high school players. Also by email notification will be occasional weekday play at 3:30.

Description Our junior program is run by George Wolf who is the 2010 California State 55-C Champion and the 2010 California State Senior Olympian- 3rd place for his age division. George gives juniors private, semi-private and group lessons for free (he is the program director of the club and retired so he loves teaching kids the sport). Our local group offers frequent junior demos, exhibitions, and we play in many tournaments every year where advanced, intermediate, or first time juniors can get ranked just for playing in them. Our group is closely affiliated with the junior program based in the San Fernando Valley/West LA group that is run by Debbie Tisinger Moore, the 72 time national champ and coach of 6 current national or world champions including three world junior outdoor champions. Our kids play in tournaments together and get top notch specialized coaching. This junior group is for all ages from 3-18 and all skill levels. George has a positive, fun and effective approach to teaching racquetball that kids love

Description Beginner classes include general warm-up and stretching, footwork drills and speed training. There is basic forehand and backhand mechanic instruction, practice with rules and strategy, and instruction on serve mechanics for various types of serves. Game play on a weekly basis.

In the Intermed and Advanced classes these skills are expanded upon and higher level drills are utilized to encourage development.

Special classes for the competitive athletes include fitness training and special practices with drills geared toward fine tuning their game

Cost There is no charge for our junior group play and all are welcome to attend. The only cost is a $10 guest fee at UCLA (free for adults if not playing) or $10 for once a month group lesson with Debbie.
Description All junior are welcome aged 2-18. Play other juniors in a fun environment, learn to play, meet friends, get free instruction (in West LA), get tournament info etc.

Description Debbie is the 72-time national champion, an Am-Pro certified instructor and coach of 6 national champions including her daughter who has been ranked as high as 10 as a pro. Her junior group is made up of all ages from 2-18. She has junior group lessons/junior play as well as private and semi-private junior lessons/training available and runs several junior tournaments yearly. Any skill level is welcome from first time beginners to national champions. She has free equipment and goggles for those who need it the first few times. She teaches kids how to play the game correctly and competitively in a fun and casual learning environment

Details The junior fee per month is $120.00 for non members and $100.00 for members. This includes about 9 hours of racquetball training and includes a shootout. Rocky Carson (number 1 ranked outdoor and #2 ranked indoor pro) leads the junior group. It is Monday and Wednesday from 4:00 to 5:00 all year round. We separate them by levels and we take beginners to advanced players everyone is welcome.
